Updating their court floodlighting to LED throughout, West Worthing Club contacted Iron Gate TMS to integrate the lighting to work automatically in line with their new booking system.
Background & Requirements
West Worthing Club is a not-for-profit multi-sports club with approximately 1,000 members and is situated in a semi-rural setting to the west of Worthing.
The club recently upgraded the floodlighting on five outdoor tennis courts, from metal halide to energy-efficient LED, with the result that all seven outdoor hard courts and the three indoor courts are now LED lit. At the same time, they wanted to take the opportunity to automate a link between the court booking app and the LED floodlighting.
“We accepted a quote for the electrical and electronic installation and integration work from Rob Lucas (Core Electrical) and Tony Powell (Iron Gate TMS). Working closely with the court booking app developer and our volunteer in-house IT specialist, Tony designed and installed the electronics system to integrate the recommended ethernet controllers with the electrical relays, the club’s WIFI network, and the court booking app.”
Iron Gate TMS Solution: KT4E Smart
The solution was our KT4E Smart, the latest device to control an endless variety of automations using the internet. It has now been successfully up and running since the end of March 2021 and the club is beginning to see some significant benefits in a variety of ways:
Cost savings as a result of lights being matched exactly to booking times ie. no wasted lighting time between bookings
Savings in staffing costs through not needing staff to “manage the lights”
Increased member satisfaction with both the booking and lighting system - feedback has been positive
“Tony was a pleasure to work with: knowledgeable, approachable, and keen to provide a bespoke solution that fitted the job spec perfectly. We would be very pleased to work with Tony on any future projects and would be happy to recommend Iron Gate TMS as a contractor.”
